The 10:10 Challenge Holy Week Companion
Lent 2026 Supplemental Resources
This Lent, we will build on the momentum of our Connection to Christ small groups fall resource, The 10:10 Challenge, by using The 10:10 Challenge Holy Week Companion (HWC). To help us enter more deeply into the season, we will use Days 1–7 of the Companion as our weekly small group discussion guides.
As time permits, you will also find supplemental ideas and resources below to enrich your gatherings. Remember, the goal is not to cover every piece of material, but to foster a Spirit-filled conversation that encourages growth in faith and deeper friendship with Jesus and one another.
Using the The 10:10 Challenge Holy Week Companion as a small group guide—rather than primarily as at-home reflection or homework—creates more space for prayer and participation in the many offerings and events our parish, community, and Church provide during Lent.
Week 1 - starts Feb 16
HWC - Day 1. Keep Watch
Consider reading and discussing the About to Enter the Passion on page 5-6, if time permits before starting Day 1 on page 10.
Page 12 encourages us to enter into Lent through music. Listen to one or both of the songs below, and then share what rises within you—a word or phrase that stands out, a memory it brings back, or a feeling it stirs.
Pray a decade of the rosary together - in particular the Agony in the Garden from the Sorrowful Mysteries (1:55 - 5:20 of the video below).
Week 2 - Starts February 23
HWC - Day 2. No Way Out But Through
Page 12-13 encourage us to contemplate what Jesus did for us. Ask the group to think of words to add to the two phrases
- "Jesus _____ so that we wouldn't have to."
- "Jesus _____ so that we can, too."
Then together, slowly pray, reflect, and share on this litany prayer What Jesus Did for Us below.
Week 3 - starts March 2
HWC - Day 3. For the Joy
Page 17 encourages us to fast with intention. Together, read and reflect on the ideas of sacrifices that have nothing to do with food list. Share with one another which of these are a challenge for you or which you may be drawn to try this week.
This topic focuses on the theme of loving your neighbor. Read and reflect on the Care before Cure reflection from The 10:10 Challenge on page 154 (see below).
Week 4 - starts March 9
HWC - Day 4. That They May Be One
Page 18-19 we read from John's Gospel of Jesus washing his disciples feet at the Last Supper. Enter into this passage more deeply by listening to the 22-minute audio guided meditation using Imaginative Contemplation.
Page 19 encourages us to stay at the foot of the cross. Consider attending the Stations of the Cross every Wednesday at 12 pm or Friday at 7 pm during Lent.
Week 5 - starts March 16
HWC - Day 5. The Paradox of the Cross
Page 23 encourages us to pray with the mercy of God. Consider praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet (p. 31) together.
As mentioned last week, page 19 encourages us to stay at the foot of the cross. Consider attending the Stations of the Cross every Wednesday at 12 pm or Friday at 7 pm during Lent.
Listen and reflect, together or on your own, this 15-minute
Good Friday homily on the 7 Last Words from the Venerable Fulton Sheen
Week 6 - starts March 23
HWC - Day 6. Hope Beyond the Grave
As we approach Holy Week, read the Holy Week and the Triduum section on pages 6-7. Discuss the reflection questions on page 8.
Holy Saturday - hope beyond the grave;
in stillness we wait. Use
Visio Divina to reflect and discuss this image of Mother Mary, Mary Magdalene, and the Beloved Disciple on Holy Saturday.
Holy Week - starts April 2
Easter Sunday (April 5)
Most groups won't meet this week so as to focus on Holy Week instead. Consider attending one of the Triduum (Holy Thursday, Good, Friday, Holy Saturday/Easter Vigil) liturgies together. See the Parish Triduum schedule for details.
Consider doing the challenge on page 8 to keep Good Friday solemn and prayerful from 12 to 3 pm (see page 19 for tips on how to do this).
Easter Week - starts April 6
HWC - Day 7. An Easter People
Day 7 invites us to be an Easter people. Enter more deeply into the Resurrection by:
- listening to the 16-minute audio guided meditation using Imaginative Contemplation and/or
- listening to this song about Mary Magdalene's encounter with the Risen Lord
